PSHA Hiking Mixer – Intermediate Level Hike

Take your morning up a notch by joining David and Renè, experienced hiking guides from Hike Local Palm Springs as they lead you along one of their favorite routes—the north end of the South Lykken Trail. This intermediate hike offers steady climbing, sweeping valley views, and that deeply satisfying “earned it” feeling at the finish. With experienced local guides setting the pace, you’ll move confidently through the terrain while learning about the desert’s plants, wildlife, and natural history.

This hike is exclusively for PSHA Members and their staff, limited to 20 participants, and completely free. Expect fresh air, great conversation, and a solid, energizing workout—plus a chance to connect with fellow members in a relaxed, outdoor setting.

Parking:
If you are driving, park on the street along Mesquite Ave. near the intersection with Belardo where you will probably see other parked cars.  Just a heads-up that parking is not allowed on the last block of Mesquite leading up to the trailhead.  And please make sure to NOT park in the parking lot at the Tahquitz Visitors Center as they tow cars from that lot pretty quickly!

What to Know

• Bring plenty of water (at least one large bottle per person).
• Apply sunscreen—yes, even in the morning—and wear sunglasses.
• Wear hiking or athletic shoes with socks. (No sandals; they’re not safe for trail terrain.)
• Dogs are not permitted on most Palm Springs trails per city regulations, so please leave pets at home.
